Countries associated with the Palestine and Jewish State crisis gathered as part of the Special Political Committee in order to discuss and work towards a healthy outcome for this grave situation. During committee session 1 of the Historical Special Political committee, various delegates debated whether the state of Palestine should be divided into 2 states or whether it should remain a single state. The session began with the General Speakers List, as per Model UN procedure, where countries gave their position on the agenda. Countries such as Palestine and Lebanon were against establishing a Jewish estate whereas counties like China lobbied for two separate states. Even though the Delegate of Pakistan and the Delegate of the Jewish Agency were not present in the committee, they did send in comments via telegram.
The Jewish agency emphasized on the fact that they have historical claims over Palestinian land and would claim what is rightfully theirs, but without recourse to any bloodshed. They are extremely grateful for the countries providing Jews with space to live in, but they would like to live in a land which they can call home and humbly requested for the committee to recognize this need.

With this, the committee moved into a moderated caucus with the motion “consequences of the two-state solution”. Countries discussed and argued about consequences such as conflict due to the distribution of land and ethnicity, The moderated caucus was continued by the delegation of India and they requested the Chair to “Justify the plea of Jews” The Delegation of Lebanon also expressed its willingness to find Jews a home in Lebanon.
Furthermore, the Delegate of Palestine made a point that just because Jews have a historical connection, it does not justify their claim to take over their land. The delegate pointed out that should a partition occur, there would be conflict and violence, similar, for example, to the situation of India and Pakistan. Throughout the committee sessions, the entire agenda was constantly connected and compared to the situation of the India-Pakistan partition.
The committee agreed to discuss the comment that the Jewish Agency made earlier. Palestine believes that the historical connection of the Jews and the current land of Palestine is irrelevant. Panama suggested the land must be divided based on the proportions of the population. The committee also addressed the status of Jerusalem - a historic site for both Jews and Arabs. While Czechoslovakia and the Soviet Union believed that the state must be divided into east and west, the Delegation of Palestine declared that they had nothing against Jews, what they stood against was establishing a Jewish state. They expressed readiness to amend tourist laws to let Jews visit Jerusalem.

A piece of news broke out during the committee session that there is a mole in the committee and that information had been a leaked. Along with accusation of this being fake news, more than 50% of the committee agreed that the delegate of Palestine had possibly leaked this information. However, later, with the help of the media, it was revealed to the committee that the information that slaughtering of Jews was taking place around the world by Arabs whose nationality had not been revealed. This was followed by Palestine, Lebanon, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Turkey making a presidential statement that they do not encourage anti-Semitism and are not Nazis.
One committee session focussed on the discussion of slaughtering of Jews. The delegate of India proposed that every country should identify such areas where slaughtering of Jews is suspected. The committee sessions ended today with the news that there were Arabs in Panama who were found slaughtering Jews and the delegation of Panama said that the perpetrator will be punished even if the nationality of the Arabs is Panamanian.
The committee has not proposed any resolutions as yet, but over the next two days, delegates present in the committee hope for a resolution to be passed and for there to be a fruitful outcome to this committee.
