As I entered the room of the All India Political Parties Meet, I encountered representatives of several parties, who instead of being burdened by the weight of stress were engaging in conversations and quite light ones, until the commencement of the conference.

It all started with the PSL (Provisional Speakers List), targeting the crisis situation which concerned the taking of hostages within the POK area, beginning with Mamta Banerjee, who proposed that we should take a no-nonsense approach to this as negotiation would clearly not achieve a consensus...this was the statement that essentially set the conference gear, also preparing us for a series of fiery debates. Mrs. Banerjee’s statement was then followed up by Pema Khandu, a member of the BJP, who stated that military action is imperative but the UN could assist them in carrying out this very matter as well, suggesting that the army be put on high alert, he also mentioned how the international press should be sent out, but we were happily persistent enough to stay.

Akhilesh Yadav then stepped up with a more nationalist stand, advocating for opposing involvement of the UN as this is possibly considered as a national issue.  As the clash between promoting the involvement of the UN in the crisis and being against it grew fierce, Rahul Gandhi proposed that border security should be monitored thoroughly and contact with the pakistani government should be established.  As the problem continued to escalate, Nitish Kumar proposed a military ambush after locating the grid reference of terrorists.

We later got to know that several institutions were set on fire as part of the crisis with the situation getting hotter and hotter with the tick of each second. M.K stalin then, progressing the discussion talked about how the BJP is failing to promote indianism and is tricking the masses, claiming falsely that they have achieved ‘Development’, he later went on to support the involvement of the UN in this crisis, to make it attempts to de escalate it as peacefully as possible, focusing on the union of indians and muslims. Stalin also pointed out how the bjp is not focusing on indianizing other states like arunachal, but only on Kashmir. Ravi shankar prasad, the minister of law emphasized on the importance of civil safety in this crisis, also mention how they could help classify muslims in s.c .st and oc categories to further contribute to resolving this issue.

As this crisis began to boil up, the Executive board served as a calming and correcting presence to the floor, assisting the delegates in establishing their point clearly and in standing with their respective stance.

As the crisis slowly reached a resolution, it was followed by several fierce debates (diplomatic ones of course -_-) where the proposition of an undercover operation to be sent to pok and requests for a surgical strike by akhilesh yadav were refuted by political representatives such as Ravi Shankar Prasad.  He established the precedent that launching a surgical strike would spark a war, also mentioning the fact that sending resources to the place of crisis for survival is also required. This was followed by Mamta Banerjee’s statements and very true ones regarding how instead of launching surgical strikes india has to ‘use it’s brain’.

Stalin later pointed out that the scrapping of 370 is the cause of this crisis, following this, several political leaders like Khandu proposed that security should be increased temporarily and all states should be put on high alert, additionally border control should be monitored thoroughly as well.

In the end, as probably guessed by the reader, the crisis was resolved! The EB was informed that the Indian line of control has successfully sustained the situation.

The resolving of the crisis was then followed by several lobbies regarding the reservation issue, being the main objective of the agenda. The outcome of these lobbies resulted in the unraveling of several opinions, where Vashundra Raje stated that caste based reservations should be offered to Obcs, although other political leaders such as narendra modi stated that reservations based on merit are recommended, although Rahul gandhi opposed this by referencing how economically weaker masses do not have the resources to compete with masses of higher privilege. This then followed discussions on maximizing the quality of education and the representation of diverse communities as well.

After several clashes of opinions, bills were formed and presented, targeting gender equality and the case of reservations.  The first bill proposed by Akhilesh Yadav and Stalin stated that article 370 be scrapped, claiming meritocracy is unfair for lower castes as well, although this bill had no opposition, it was topped by the second bill, which focused mainly on similar issues such as meritocracy and how section 370 shan’t be scrapped, with included justifications, being proposed by Ravi Shankar prasad and Narendra Modi.

After the intense chunk of this committee was over, then came the lighter moments, including superlatives on how Y.S reddy was the cutest delegate, there were then other comments mentioned such as how Ravi Shankar Prasad and Modi should engage in a dance!

And so...The committee ended as quickly as it started, with a plethora of fruitful discussions and fiery debates following their path, accompanied by three amazing mentors, all part of the executive board, all in all, it was certainly a roller-coaster ride, and we must admit, a quite educating one!
